On the missionary road

Well, we left Mesa on Friday and drove as far as Fredonia, where we stopped to visit with Uncle Roy and Aunt Mary (my mother's sister). We had a great time--Phil grilled the meals--Friday steaks, then Sat night we had pork chops. Good eats!! We played mexican dominoes, and visited and reminisced about family--in particular Grampa and Gramma Henry and their kids. I hope that M & R will have good health while we are gone.
We got up early --we lost an hour just driving up the road a mile, as Utah has a different time zone--and had rain for the first couple of hours on the road. Oh well!! We needed to stop at a reststop aqnd noticed that there was a church historical site--Cove Fort where president Hinckley's grandfather built a fort for the church to take care of pony express mail, and a way station for travelers who were traveling West.
We arrived in Provo. Came to the hotel first, then went over to make sure we could find the MTC where we will go tomorrow. We are excited, nervous, a little scared!! I have the best companion, so I will have him to take care of me.
We went to eat at Chile's and good food, then back to our hotel room. Called my sister Nancy to check on her as we noticed that the hurricane may cause some problems for her, but she assures me that Susan and Bob will take care of her--thank you Bob and Susan.
So, tomorrow we will take the next big step--until then, we will keep you posted.
