Maybe you heard that there was flooding in New York--specifically Silver Creek. Well, our missionaries were asked to go do service for those people whose homes were damaged during the flood.
Here is Sister Dewey on the left and Sister Wolfgramm on the right wearing our Mormon Helping hands shirts. The missionaries were so happy that they had an opportunity to wear these shirts to be a part of the program the church has for helping people all over the world.
Elder Lindblom was the supervisor and got the missionaries into groups

This was one of the houses affected. About a foot of water came into this house so the missionaries had to cut away the dry wall and insulation--about the first 12 inches. The carpeting was pulled up, floors swept and prepared for new plywood in preparation for new flooring.

What a great opportunity to put the church's finest foot forward. You guys are awesome.
You have to love the church and its ability to pitch in and help out wherever it is needed
awesome mom! So nice to be able to serve like that!!!!
What a great opportunity to help! We are trying to get more prepared for emergencies and to help others if the need arises. We've learned from Katrina and Rita that horrible things can happen in a short time and we need to be there to help! I am so glad that you can be such a big part of helping folks.
