Another Day in Erie, Pa

Yet another day in Erie, Pa. We started this morning with correlation meeting, going over people visited this week, etc. After it was done, we suggested that we go to Pizza Hut for lunch. We like their salad bar. So we took Elder Bakker and this cutie below, elder Page, who helped Dad clean the snow and ice off of the car. Yes, more snow to be shoveled. And with about 25 degree temperature he was just in a sweater.

This is the icecicles on the side of our building. It got a little warmer and the sun was melting them and I was scared to death that they would fall on us.

Now these icecicles are over the entrance of the building and I was sure they would drop on me. I hope they come down before morning.. There was ice all over the step when we left the building, but when we came back it looked as though someone had put down some salt and melted the ice.

We went to Fredonia New York to inspect one of the missionary apartments. There was not as much snow there, but these are some of the grape vines along the way. Look at those snow clouds.

I took this because there is a Gary Weiss in our Cornerstone Ward and I wonder if this might be some of his family, in Dunkirk, New York

We pulled into a Burger King to use their facilities and get a drink for the road. It is snowing and I was hoping the snow would show up in the picture

I just thought this was a neat picture with the steam rising from the smoke stack in the distance It was the view from the Fredonia missionary apartment to Dunkirk, N.Y.

More snow clouds, more snow

As we drove along, the sun was shining and these trees, with the ice on them, were amazing. It doesn't do justice to the way it really looked. How great are God's creations!!

This was our Christmas present from Tammie, Kelli, Nancie and Philip. We tried it out and finally got the consistency that tastes just great!! We tried rootbeer first. Thanks, this will keep us happy when we are snowbound!!

Okey, so we woke up to yet, more snow this morning and I took pictures through the screen door so you can see just how much snow is on the patio floor

And this is how Dad is spending his morning, watching tv while I work on my lesson for next week. We did not have anyone show up for class last night--bummer--so we just came back to the apartment and tried out our new soda machine. Oh yes, I will take a picture and put it on here!!

Okey, so it is winter!!

The next pictures are just random snow pictures and I just LOVE looking at all the snow!! Yes, I am a nut, and I like being inside while I am looking, but I LOVE the snow!!

A new year and great experiences!!

Okey, so a number of people in the past few months since we have been here have given me yarn to make hats. Some of it was really not appropriate for the missionary hats, but some i used to make hats for other projects. Anyhow, since to make hats for missionaries here in our area, cold months are about over as far as transferring different missionaries to our areas, so with all this extra yarn, I have been working on this cute pattern for lap blankets.. So you will see four of the five I have so far finished. What am I going to do with them, I am not quite sure, but I am sure there are some people out there that can use them. Consider the fact that they are not all that terrific as far as color schemes go,my blankets of many colors will have interesting owners. So what do you think??

However, this wone is a little wierd. As I said, it was just odds and ends and I tried to have some kind of matching colors

Back to the red white and blue one I just finished. It looks good to me!!

More pictures of our newest snow storm!!

Snow covered cars and snow drifts. Fortunately big red did not have a lot of snow on him. Guess we just parked him in the right spot this time!!

This is on the highway on Saturday morning We left our apartment and got on the interstate highway. About a third of the way there, we had a white out--could only see one car length ahead of us. So, we cautiously drove until we got to our turn off. The white in the background is snow pelting down on us.

And the windshields and car was also covered with ice under all that snow

We went out to Sister Hinklers house. She crocheted these darling angels with a little pocket in the back, so she can slide in a new picture of these children, grand children and great grandchildren to put on the tree

This is her version of the Christmas mouse. The cherry with stem is dipped in chocolate the head is a candy kiss the ears almond slices and the eyes just a dab of frosting. all placed on an oreo cookie!!

Dad cleaning off "his side" of the car. We now are proud owners of two brushes so I get to clean the ice and snow from the passenger side of the car.

Another great gift, which I love, is this apron

The gang sent us this Soda machine and we are just getting it out today.

The elders got us this pan which has dividers for individual brownies and little stencils for the seasons. We are anxious to make them some to try it out.

I have been substituting these three little boys in CTR 5 in primary: Lucas, Jacob and James They are a hand full, but I survived the experience!!
