Thanksgiving day 20009

Over the river and through the woods, to the Johnson's house we did go
Big Red knew the way (we had been there before) Elder L did say and we had a delightful, yet "different" day. Not like our family at home, but it was fun to see the different traditions of other families. We were supposed to get snow, but that did not happen, but we were happy that did not happen.

The meal was prepared, everyone brought something. There was a delicious broccoli salad, pies galore, a wonderful sweet potato casserole, and all the other Thanksgiving foods!! What a feast! Two tables full, plus the desserts
At this table was Sister Hunsaker, her son Aaron and in red shirt her husband Nathan

This was Mary (Bro Johnson's sister) and her daughter and in the background brother Smith, then a daughter of the Johnsons, a daughter of the Smiths,, another daughter of the Johnsons and two more starting with girl in ponytail

After the meal was over, the tables were cleared and put up and the games began. We started with a game called dog and cat. The spoon represented the dog and the fork the cat. The leader sent the dog to the left and the cat to the right. The object was to see who could get back to the leader first. She handed the dog to the next person and then said "this is the dog" and the response was "the what" and the leader responded "the dog". The next person sent the "dog" to the person on his right and said This is the dog, and response was the what, and then the person handing the dog said the what and that went all the way back to the leader who said the dog and that went back down the line to the one holding the dog. On the other side of the leader she handed the cat and the procedure was the same. It got a little confusing, but it was a fun game.

Then we played this game. Two ties were handed out. The leader ties two rounds with the red tie and passes it to the right. She has a yellow one that she ties one round and passes it to the left. The object, of course, is to see how fast the ties can get around the circle. Another fun game
